BGO Casino United Kingdom 2017 Review

An image of 4 casino rating

Many moons ago, BGO (or bgo) began as a bingo site. The name ‘bgo’ was originally conceived as an abbreviation of ‘bingo’. After a tasting a modicum of success with their bingo offerings, the top brass at BGO predicted that the online casino business was about to generate plenty of big bucks for those involved, and so switched the attention of their site to slots, blackjack, roulette and other online casino fare.

BGO has gone from strength to strength since the switch, and has never been afraid to go after celebrity endorsement. Socialite Paris Hilton and poker playboy Dan Bilzerian have been past ambassadors of the BGO site, but Verne Troyer (‘Mini-Me’ from the Austin Powers series of movies) has remained as the main face of BGO since 2014. He plays ‘The Boss’ at BGO on their site and in media advertising.

The BGO Casino site itself runs via licences granted by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission and the United Kingdom Gambling Commission.

BGO Casino Review: Theme

The BGO Casino has a very distinctive theme. If you’re on the BGO site then you’re left in no doubt as to where you are – it’s hard to mistake it for any other online casino or gambling portal! One thing you will notice immediately is ‘The Boss’ (i.e. Mr Verne Troyer) as he gets everywhere. We’re not really sure about getting someone as well known as Verne Troyer to play a role on the site – it’s very hard not to see ‘The Boss’ and think of him as ‘Mini-Me’.

Anyhow, there are five sections at the site you can choose from: Casino, Vegas, Games, Live and Bingo. The Live and Bingo sections hardly need an explanation, but why the other three? Why not just Casino? Well, the Vegas section just seems to consist of slots, while the Games section is just NetEnt software. The Casino section seems to mainly consist of Playtech games.

Games are sortable by the menus on the left-hand side of the screen, and game selection itself is achieved by clicking on the square thumbnails that represent each title. Important information about the site is available towards the bottom of the landing page.

BGO Casino Bonus Codes and Specials

The fight for new players is always the biggest battleground when it comes to online casinos. The way most wagering portals attract new clients is by offering bonuses, and BGO Casino is no different.

The first attraction is a complete freebie – twenty free spins on the classic NetEnt slot Starburst when you join. No deposit is required to attain these free spins, but they must be used within twenty-four hours of you being awarded them. Any winnings you obtain from your free spins must be wagered a minimum of thirty-five times, and you have three days in which to do this. You cannot win more than £100 via your free spins.

There’s bonus money to be had at BGO Casino too, namely a two hundred percent bonus up to a maximum of £100. You must deposit at least £10 in order to gain a welcome bonus, and the maximum deposit that will be ‘doubled’ and paid as bonus money is £50. Wagering conditions apply of course, and again they are thirty-five times the value of your bonus. You only get three days in which to meet wagering requirements.

On top of your welcome bonus you will receive another one hundred and eighty free spins on Starburst at a rate of twenty per day for nine days. The T&Cs for these free spins match the T&Cs as given for the no-deposit free spins as mentioned above.

There are bonuses available on each of your first four deposits at BGO Casino. Your potential bonus schedule is as follows:

  • First deposit: 200% bonus up to £100 + 180 free spins
  • Second deposit: 100% bonus up to £500
  • Third deposit: 100% bonus up to £500
  • Fourth deposit: 100% bonus up to £400

You don’t have to be Albert Einstein to work out that your potential bonuses add up to a massive maximum of £1,500 in bonus cash!

You need a minimum deposit of £10 to claim the first two deposits, and a minimum deposit of £30 to claim deposits three and four.

Not all games contribute equally to play-through requirements, as follows:

  • Slots games*, scratch cards – 100%
  • ‘Other’ games – 25%
  • Video poker, roulette – 20%
  • Table poker, baccarat, blackjack – 10%
  • Keno and some ‘other games’ – 5%
  • Progressive slots, ‘Lucky Blackjack’, double up features on all slots, video poker – 0%

*some slots games are excluded from wagering

The above is not a definitive list – please check the site’s T&Cs for full details.

Once they have you have a client at BGO Casino they don’t forget you in terms of special bonus deals. They often have deals and bonus offers for their players, including holiday giveaways and deposit bonuses, especially when you play at the site’s live casino.

‘The Boss’ also appreciates your loyalty at his BGO Casino site as you can earn loyalty ‘stars’ which you can then exchange at his loyalty store. You earn one loyalty point for every £10 you wager on slots and scratch cards, and one loyalty point for even £100 you wager on blackjack, roulette or casino games.

Top VIP players earn the best bonus deals at BGO – birthday and anniversary bonuses, priority VIP support and invitations to special VIP events.

BGO Casino Review: Games Selection and Software

We’ve already mentioned that BGO has titles from NetEnt and Playtech – three of the very biggest names in the online casino business. Additionally, this casino has titles from Bally, IGT, WMS, NextGen Gaming, Endemol Games, Blue Gem Gaming, Quickspin and Eyecon.

With such a talented line-up it’s inevitable that there’s such a huge amount of top titles here. Slots-wise, there are plenty of real crackers such as Jackpot Giant, Gonzo’s Quest and Rainbow Riches.

If you prefer to get down with the casino vibe on the tables, then you’ll find plenty of varieties of each type of game – blackjack, roulette, baccarat, casino poker and more. There are also a handful of scratch cards and video poker titles.

If you click through via the ‘Live‘ tab at this site you will arrive at the live casino here, which has lroulette, blackjack, baccarat and casino hold’em.

BGO Casino Mobile and App

The Boss at BGO Casino is a really tiny guy, but he comes into his own when you use the mobile-optimised version of the casino software – he almost appears life-size!

We’re kind of impressed with the mobile BGO Casino app, but it’s not the best we’ve seen. It’s perhaps a little bit too fiddly, and works far better on tablets than it does on standard smart phones, unless you have a smart phone with a large screen.

If your mobile device of choice has a small screen, then you’d better be pretty nibble with your fingers!

Money Matters with BGO Casino

The ‘finances’ page at BGO Casino is one of the most transparent and easy to understand cashier pages we’ve seen anywhere, so mega kudos to The Boss!

To make a deposit here you can use a Visa or MasterCard credit or debit card, PayPal, Neteller, Skrill, iDebit, Envoy, Citadel Instant Banking or Paysafecard. You can also use the .boku pay by mobile service so you can pay via your mobile phone bill. The minimum accepted deposit is £10 and the maximum for all methods is £99,999 although we think this is an error – we think this exceeds the limits for both Paysafecard and .boku. All deposits are processed instantly and there are no fes involved.

Withdrawal times are one working day (PayPal, Skrill or Neteller), three to five working days (Citadel Instant Banking, credit/debit cards, Instadebit) or five working days (Envoy). You cannot withdraw to .boku. The minimum accepted withdrawal is £20, and there are no fees involved.

BGO Casino Review: Customer Service and Support

The FAQs section at BGO Casino is pretty extensive, and you should be able to find the answer to the majority of any queries you might have there, including information about the bonuses and promotions, and deposits/withdrawals.

We’re surprised to see that there’s no live chat function available here – or none that we could get to work anyhow. There was a ‘live chat’ button but it said ‘currently unavailable’ whenever we checked. Customer support is supposed to be available between 8.30am and midnight every day of the week, UK time.

Your alternatives are to email via the email form available on site, or directly using support@bgo.com. You can even write to the site at bgo Entertainment, Inchalla, Le Val, Alderney GY9 3UL.

Overall Rating of BGO Casino

An image of 4 casino ratingWe’re willing to incur the wrath of ‘The Boss’ here and opine that we do not think BGO Casino is ‘the boss’ when it comes to online casinos. There are more than enough games – that much cannot be denied – but it’s annoying to have them split over three different mini-sites. We’re guessing this online casino is split up this way due to licensing requirements, but it is still something of an annoyance.

There are plenty of positives here, though. The site does look nice, all the bonus and cashier information is as transparent as it should be, and all bonuses and promotions are achievable and fair. Will you think that BGO Casino is ‘the boss’? Why not try a few spins here and find out?
