  • Lampard recently carried out independent investigations into accusations of Jimmy Savile’s sexual abuse in NHS hospitals in the UK, and
  • Abuse at Yarl’s Wood Immigration Removal Centre.

For the first time in history, her appointment has resulted in the RGT’s Board predominately consisting of Trustees who are completely independent of the gambling industry.

Commenting on joining the RGT Trustee Board, Ms. Lampard said she is delighted to accept the appointment to help protect and prevent vulnerable people from gambling-related damage. The RGT plays a significant role in enhancing people’s understanding of gambling-related harm and coming up with effective ways to curb such issues. She further added that she’s looking forward to working with the Board to address the challenge of minimizing gambling-related damage.

Chair of the UK Gambling Commission, Philip Graf CBE, welcomed Ms. Lampard’s appointment with a speech and says the UK Gambling Commission welcomes her as new Board of Trustees Chair and they are looking forward to working with her. He further noted that Ms. Lampard will deliver on the RGT and RGSB strategies to help solve gambling-related harm.
