City manager, Guardiola, had already seen some improvements from his side earlier this season when his club won 2-1 against United on September 10, 2016. The two clubs will meet again in the EFL Cup fourth round on October 24, 2016.
In other matches scheduled, last season’s finalists Liverpool will face Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup fourth round, while Chelsea faces West Ham at the London Stadium. Arsenal will face Reading at Emirates after beating Nottingham Forest 4-0 at the City Ground.
Hull City, who shocked fans with their late win against Stoke, has been awarded a trip to Bristol City, England, while Sunderland will travel to the capital to take on Southampton.
