How to Play Live Baccarat:

  1. Baccarat Live Players can bet on either of two hands. There is a Banker’s hand and a Player’s hand. A Bet must be placed on either the Player or Banker before cards are dealt.
  1. Know how cards are dealt. Two cards are dealt to both the Player and the Banker face up. The next card, the first of the Banker hand, is placed in the Banker’s box on the table. The dealer’s first round consists of two cards for both the Player and Banker.
  1. Announce the point total of both of sets of cards. Tens and face cards = 0; all other cards = face value and the ace =1. If a total is more than 10, the second digit is the value of the hand. For example, a 9 and a 6, which total 15, make up a 5-point hand. In order to win, your bet must be on the hand that totals closer to nine.
  1. The “natural” win.If in the first two cards dealt, the point total is 8 or 9 for either the Player or the Banker the game is over. Bets that have already been placed are cashed out.
  1. Determine whether the player gets a third card by looking at the point totals. A total of 8 or 9 for the Player will get no additional cards. The Player stands on totals of 6 or 7. On any other total, 0-5, the Player draws a third card, unless the banker has 8 or 9, in which case the bank hand wins with no further draw.
  1. Know the rules governing the third card for the Banker.
  1. Player’s third-card-rule
  • If either the player or the bank have a total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards no further cards are drawn. The resulting hand is called a natural and the hand is over.
  • If the player’s total is less than or equal to 5 the player’s hand draws a third card.
  • If the player does not draw a third card, then the bank’s hand stands on 6 or more and takes a third card on a total of 5 or less. If the player does take a third card then the Bank’s third-card-rule below will determine if the bank takes a third card.

         Live Dealer Bank’s third-card-rule

  • If the bank’s total is 2 or less then bank draws a card, regardless of what the player’s third card is.
  • If the banks total is 3 then the bank draws a third card unless the players third card was an 8.
  • If the banks total is 4 then the bank draws a third card unless the players third card was a 0, 1, 8, or 9.
  • If the banks total is 5 then the bank draws a third card if the players third card was 4, 5, 6, or 7.
  • If the banks total is 6 then the bank draws a third card if the players third card was a 6 or 7.
  • If the banks total is 7 then the bank stands.
  1. Once all cards are dealt, calculate the winning hand. The winning hand is that which totals closer to 9. In the event of a tie, neither hand wins or loses.
