Royal Flush – This is Poker’s most famous hand and it cannot be beaten. An Ace-high straight flush consists of e.g. Ace of Spades, King of Spades, Queen of Spades, Jack of Spades and a 10 of Spades.

Straight Flush – In Texas Live Hold Em Poker this hand consists of a five card sequence of the same suit. If there is a tie, the highest rank at the top of the sequence wins. This hand consists of an Ace, King, Queen, Jack and Ten of a single suit. An example is Queen of Spades, Jack of Spades, 10 of Spades, 9 of Spades and 8 of Spades.

Four of Kind – This is pretty much self explanatory in Texas Live Hold Em Poker. Players will need four cards of the same rank, and one side card or a ‘kicker’. Also known as Squads, this hand consists of 4 cards of the same number, e.g. 9 of Spades, 9 of Hearts, 9 of Diamonds and 9 of Clubs, and any other unmatched card. However the unmatched card that is higher than another players unmatched card, will win.

Full House – Players will need three cards of the same rank and two cards of a different, matching rank. Also known as a Full Boat consists of a hand such as 4 of Spades, 4 of Hearts, 4 of Diamonds and two other matching cards such as 7 of Clubs and 7 of Spades.

Flush – A Flush consists of five cards of the same suit that are not in sequence. An example is Queen of Clubs, 10 of Clubs, 7 of Clubs, 6 of Clubs and Ace of Clubs. Flushes are described by their highest cards, as in a queen-high flush.
