Playtech Appoints New Non-Executive Director

Online gambling software provider Playtech plc has announced the appointment of a new board member, Claire Milne. Mrs. Milne joins the list of Playtech’s independent non-executive directors. She will also join several committees which are relevant to her expertise, these include:

  • The Audit Committee,
  • The Nominations Committee,
  • The Remuneration Committee,
  • And the Risk & Compliance Committee.

Mrs. Milne joins Playtech’s board as an acclaimed business expert in eGaming and technology. She has been in the industry for more than 20 years and her main focus was on advising gaming and financial services.

Commenting on Mrs. Milne’s appointment, Alan Jackson, the Chairman of Playtech’s board, said as a leading global gambling software development company, it is appropriate that Playtech’s board contains someone with a wealth of knowledge in the developing areas of eGaming law and technology. He further noted that Mrs. Milne brings 20 years’ experience of advising multinational companies and they look forward to working with her.

Mrs. Milne has never been a board member of a gambling company before. Currently, she’s an Isle of Man resident, a member of the Law Society of Scotland, a writer to Her Majesty’s Signet, a team leader at the Appleby’s Isle of Man office, and she used to be a Chair of the Isle of Man Gambling Commission from 2007 to 2012. She also holds degrees from the University of Aberdeen, Baltimore and Johns Hopkins University.

Recent Appointment at Playtech

The appointment of Mrs. Milne comes right after the new appointment of Playtech’s chief policy officer Francesco Rodano. Mr. Rodano used to work for Agenzia delle Dogane e dei Monopoli (AAMS) as the Italian gambling regulator. His responsibilities at Playtech include:

  • Developing and maintaining ongoing relationships with legislative bodies in different states,
  • Provides Playtech with accurate information about the legislative hindrances the company might face,
  • Obtain new customers and strengthen the existing stakeholders’ relationship.
